|Coordinates the MRI scanning examinations to ensure the quality and continuity of patient care.|
|Maintains area in a clean orderly condition. Disinfects after each patient, if needed|
|Familiar with types of implant materials to determine if safe in magnetic field.|
|Is responsible for inventory and control of specific MRI supply items in work area; Uses supplies cost effectively|
|Works with the radiologist in establishing protocols for MRI to ensure maximum quality of images|
|Reviews with each patient history of previous surgeries for possible implants, or metal in body, i.e. foreign bodies in eyes, etc.|
|Established a Safe zone from the Magnet for staff and family.|
|Ensures date of surgery is longer than six weeks prior to exam.|
|Performs procedures according to departmental protocol as established by Radiologist(s); understands procedure preparation for MRI.|
|Introduces self to patient and patient’s family if appropriate; communicates with the patient, explains the procedure(s), alleviates anxiety.|
|Interviews the patient to obtain patient’s medical history or important information regarding the nature of the exam being performed; documents that information appropriately|
Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology with advanced certification in MRI.
1 year of experience in a hospital MRI dept.
AHA BLS or equivalent
